Family Access Guide

"If I'm not around, follow this map."

This document tells your family how to find and open your Family Financial Map. It does not contain your password, PIN, or recovery keys — those are stored separately.

1. What you are looking for

A file named like family.ffm. It is small (under 1 MB), readable only with the master password or a recovery key.

2. Where the file is stored

3. How to open it

1. Plug in the pendrive / drive that has the FamilyFinancialMap folder.
2. Inside it, double-click index.html. Any modern browser will open it (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox).
3. Click Open Existing Map.
4. Choose the .ffm file.
5. Enter the master password from the sealed envelope (kept at: ____________________).
6. If the password is unavailable, use any one of the 5 recovery keys.

4. In an emergency

After opening, click the orange Emergency Mode button at the top right. You will see step-by-step instructions, key contacts, insurance summaries and continuity guidance.

6. If something does not work

• The app runs entirely offline — no internet needed.
• If the browser blocks the file, right-click index.html → "Open with" → any browser.
• Make a second copy of the .ffm file on a different drive once a month.
